Holistic Development

Core Values

At The House We Built, our core values not only help our student-athletes build character, but they also equip them with a set of values that will help them throughout their lives:

  • Resilience - minimizing distractions and persevering in the face of adversity.

  • Effort - maximizing growth, paying attention to details, building consistency.

  • Accountability - accepting responsibility for words and actions.

  • Candidness - communicating in truths.

  • Gratitude - maintaining perspective.

  • Humility - serving others and thinking of others first.

In taking a holistic approach to development, our core values serve as the main guiding principles in the following three arenas of our program:

Academic Advising and Youth Life Coaching

One of the main goals for our student-athletes is to use basketball as a vehicle to gain access to higher education. As our student-athletes study in high school, we use our expertise and knowledge to ensure that they are eligible in the NCAA Clearinghouse. We also provide youth life coaching for our student-athletes as they seek to understand themselves and build themselves toward the future. From discussing academic materials to tutoring to mentoring, we believe and excel in building our student-athletes off the court.

Strength and Conditioning

While preparing the mind and building character are important, building a student-athlete’s athleticism and body are just as important to help their growth. We have NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) certified staff who will assess individual needs and tailor plans to help our student-athletes build and maximize their athleticism in an efficient, safe, and logical manner.

Skill Development

On the court, we provide unparalleled skill development with coaching and training that translates not only to game situations but also translate to collegiate basketball. We focus on ball skills, angles, and the fine nuances of basketball. With an extensive history and experience of developing players who play NCAA Division I, II, and III basketball, we are also one of the only coaching staff in New England with a coach who has Division I coaching experience as well as high major Division I and professional playing experience. When we coach our teams, our staff emphasizes a style of basketball that plays up-tempo and utilizes actions that are common at the next level. We are deliberate and precise in the way we design our schemes so that we can maximize our players’ talents and showcase them at their best to college coaches.
